South Carolina Attorney General Henry McMaster is poised to go public to reveal the not so surprising move that he intends to run for Governor of South Carolina. McMaster is taking to the airwaves Monday night August 24 on statewide television and on the internet at 6pm to lay out his plans to run for the Republican gubernatorial nomination in 2010. McMaster is also expected to make a formal announcement Tuesday about his plans for the state’s economic future. Three weeks ago, McMaster filed a campaign disclosure form with the State Ethics Commission stating his intentions to run for governor. McMaster has raised a modest $650 for his gubernatorial campaign, however he is expected to move more than $1.1 million in his attorney general re-election fund to his gubernatorial campaign fund.
