Lt. Governor Andre Bauer wants to “recognize South Carolinians that have reached the milestone of 100 years old. And, believe it or not there are over a 1,000 in South Carolina,” says Bauer.
The South Carolina Centinary Society and the lieutenant governor is on a mission.
“We want to find out who the oldest South Carolinian is. We’re looking for it. And, it’s hard to find out these things for sure because until 1915 we didn’t have birth certificates in this state. So, you have to use medical records, family bibles, and military records to try and come up with some kind of idea of when these people were born,” says Bauer. [Read more...]
