SC’s new ad campaign for tourism unveiled (Audio)

The Governor’s Conference on Travel and Tourism wraps up Wednesday at the Marriot Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach. The conference is attended by interested parties from all over South Carolina.

Director of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism Chad Prosser says they have unveiled the new advertising campaign designed to sell the Palmetto State to residents of other states. The ads proclaim that South Carolina is “made for vacation” and feature comments from tourists.

Prosser says even in the recession, the outlook will soon get a little better in the tourism industry.  He says his department expects this spring and summer to be better than last year for those in tourism-related businesses.
