Retailers are hoping for a boost in sales connected to the Easter holiday weekend, as well as spring breaks from school that give some parents more time for shopping. Retail sales have seen an increase recently, but consumers will be looking for sales more than anything.
Dr. Marianne Bickle is director of the Center for Retailing at the University of South Carolina. She says most Easter buying, as usual, will be enjoyed by the younger members of the family. Dr. Bickle says polls show that Easter clothes shopping will be a little different from the average Easter holiday.
