In this economy, people say “…when I win the lottery.” Well, some South Carolinians have, and have yet to claim their money. Time is running out for Powerball winners who have yet to pick up their winnings. The South Carolina Education Lottery reports thousands of dollars will become unclaimed prizes if the winners do not come forward.
Tickets waiting to be turned in include: a $10,000 ticket in Blythewood, $10,000 ticket in Blacksburg, $40,000 ticket in Orangeburg, $10,000 ticket in Gaston, $10,000 ticket in Charleston, and a $200,000 ticket in Rock Hill. Unclaimed prizes are transferred into an Education Lottery Account for appropriation by the General Assembly to support educational initiatives in the state.
