Just after Nikki Haley’s win Tuesday in the GOP gubernatorial runoff, the Democrat’s nominee for governor held press conferences in Columbia and Myrtle Beach Wednesday, saying that the race to the Governor’s office has officially begun. Vince Sheheen says the theme of his campaign is “One South Carolina.” He says if Haley is elected, she will follow in Governor Mark Sanford’s tracks, presenting an already failed agenda.
The Camden resident proposed that state government make more of its purchases from in-state businesses. In Columbia, Sheheen met at the R.L. Bryan Company to make that point. He says the longtime South Carolina company is suffering from state government outsourcing contracts.
