Mothers of solders will travel to Iraq (AUDIO)

A group of Blue Star and Gold Star mothers will be traveling to Iraq this fall. It’s part of the “Hugs for Healing” flight that was announced at the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport by FUTURES (Families United Toward Universal Respect).

Among those making the trip is Elaine Johnson of Orangeburg who’s son was killed in Iraq in 2003.

The group will be leaving from Greenville-Spartanburg Airport in late September.

Also making the trip, Tammy Davenport of Anderson. Her son Jim was killed in Iraq in 2006.

To help with costs, Davenport was awarded a check for $5000 from the Marine Corps League of South Carolina.
