I-385 project complete, ahead of schedule

After months of construction, the I-385 rehabilitation project that ran from Laurens county to I-26 is now complete. At a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion Friday, South Carolina Secretary of Transportation Buck Limehouse said:

I am just proud of my guys and I’m proud of the contractor. I’m proud of the local officials, the highway patrol and everybody working together. It’s the way government should work. We should make the trains run on time and this time we did.

State Senator DannyVerdin also attended the event:

All in all, the engineers and planners did a good job here and it’s to our long-term benefit.  Some short-term inconveniences, but I think everyone agrees it was a job well done.

The project which began in January and has been completed two weeks ahead of schedule. The highway was opened to traffic Friday.  Read the scope of the project.
