Spratt tours Defense Venture Group facility in Lancaster (AUDIO)

(WRHI, Rock Hill)

U.S. Representative John Spratt toured the new Defense Venture Group (DVG) facility in Lancaster County Tuesday. DVG opened in Indian Land in April. The company produces armor-protected vehicles.

Spratt says DVG is the kind of industry that will help protect the military and government personnel in Iraq as American troops remain there for training. He says the vehicles sold by DVG are capable of handling the dangers found in Iraq.

Spratt says the trucks prepared by the company meet Army specifications because their tires can take direct hits and still travel for 30 miles or more, and he says they have the advantage of not standing out like regular military vehicles.

DVG was founded in 2004 by military veterans.
