Upstate school bus accident sends 15 students to hospital

Fifteen students were taken to a local hospital after a bus crash in Spartanburg County Friday morning.  They have all now been treated and released.

The crash happened on the eastbound side of Interstate 26 near exit 28, which is Highway 221. Officials said that the bus carrying 37 students from Dorman High School, Dorman Freshman Campus and the Child Development Center was hit from behind.

According to Spartanburg County District 6 spokesperson Cynthia Robinson, the students were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

All of the students were alert and conscious. They were transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure because some of them were complaining of either neck or back injuries.
