Senator Lindsey Graham and Congressman Tim Scott are in favor of changing Medicaid laws to include men who have breast cancer. Graham and Scott are now stepping up in favor of changing those laws–covering men.
This comes after a 26-year-old Cross, South Carolina man said he was denied treatment for breast cancer. Raymond Johnson was diagnosed in July after finding a lump. However, because he’s not covered, Johnson has to solely rely on the hospital’s and doctor’s generosity to receive that treatment.
The Charleston Post and Courier reports Scott and Graham say they will first see if there is an administrative fix to the laws, and if not, they will go forward with a legislation to change the rules.
