Another 600 distribution jobs are projected for York County. Ross Stores, the discount retailer of brand name products, will open a new distribution and warehousing facility in York County. Under a five-year program, the new 1.2 million square foot facility is expected to generate about 600 new jobs .
The company says it will use the new Rock Hill facility to distribute merchandise to its retail stores located in 30 states.
Ross Dress for Less is not new to York County. Its supply chain headquarters and distribution operation there now has more than 1200 employees.
York County Council Chairman Dr. Britt Blackwell said in a press statement, “Ross Dress for Less has made several significant investments in York County over the past decade and presently is one of our largest employers.”
The new distribution center is expected to operating by end of 2013.
