Police recovered a woman’s body near a popular museum at Patriots Point Tuesday, saying it is the body of a Charleston woman missing since the weekend.
23-year-old Elizabeth Ward had not been seen or heard from since Saturday. Her black Honda Accord had been discovered by police this past weekend idling on the Ravenel Bridge. It was not known what happened to her, but it was feared she may have been a bridge jumper.
On Tuesday afternoon, Charleston Police Harbor Patrol say a woman’s body was found in the waters near the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Yorktown at Patriots Point. A fews hours later, officials confirmed it was Ward’s body.
