State Senator Ronnie Cromer is set to return to the Senate for four more years. Despite redistricting, Cromer beat out three District 18 opponents including former chairman of the Lexington County Republican Party Rich Bolen and former WIS-TV reporter Kara Gormley Meador. Cromer took his home county with 88 percent of the vote, but he was also able to take an estimated 62 percent of the overall vote which included precincts in not only Newberry but also Lexington and Union.
Cromer has no Democratic opposition in November.
