The Citadel military college has been cleared of any criminal charges over how it handled a camp counselor who molested young teens.
It’s the latest in the fallout over former counselor and coach Louis “Skip” Reville, who pleaded guilty last month to 48 counts of criminal sexual misconduct in molesting dozens of boys while a counselor at a Citadel summer camp.
According to a letter obtained by WCIV-TV in Charleston, the State Law Enforcement Division has dropped its investigation of the school, saying it could not find sufficient evidence to bring any criminal charges. School officials are accused of not reporting accusations against ReVille to police when they found out back in 2007.
Although no charges are coming, the school still faces a barrage of civil cases accusing negligence in how it handled ReVille.
