Highway patrolman’s house set on fire in Greenville

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is looking for three men who set fire to a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper’s house this morning in a gated community on Riley Smith Road.

Greenville County Master Deputy Laura Campbell said the trooper’s wife was at home and saw the suspects in the garage.

“She heard some kind of ruckus of some type in the garage, went, saw three masked men in her garage. She sought refuge in the house and called 911,” said Campbell.

The sheriff’s office says no one was injured and nothing was taken. The back of the home was damaged from the fire. The home is gated and has a six-foot tall privacy fence. Deputies do not know how the suspects got inside..
