Columbia police have arrested three people on murder charges in the case of a burned body found near the Riverbanks Zoo last week.
Firefighters responding to a grass fire at 500 Candi Lane in Columbia on September 18 discovered the body of 50-year-old Marion Spencer.
On Monday, Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announced that three people were arrested and charged with Spencer’s murder. Authorities arrested 28-year-old Tymeka Moore, 31-year-old Jimmy Dunbar, and 34-year-old Yusuf Karim Aquil. All three are accused of killing Spencer, and then setting his car on fire.
All three are charged with murder, third degree Arson, kidnapping, armed robbery and criminal conspiracy. Dunbar was also charged with possession a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Police did not give a motive for the killing. The case is still under investigation.
