State police have arrested a now-former Fountain Inn police officer after they said he had inappropriate sexual contact with a 15-year-old in his patrol car while on-duty four years ago.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) said its agents arrested 31-year-old Adam Snelgrove on Monday and charged him with criminal solicitation of a minor, third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and misconduct in office.
SLED warrants accuse Snelgrove of having sexual relations with a then-15-year-old girl in his patrol car while on duty in 2012. The warrants also claim the officer contacted the teenager with the intention of persuading her to have sex. The warrants also accuse the officer of fondling the teen while the two were at Frankie’s Fun Park in Greenville County.
The charges against Snelgrove include criminal solicitation of a minor (10 years $5,000 fine), third-degree criminal sex conduct with minor (15 years, fine at judge’s discretion) and misconduct in office (up to 10 years in prison).
