This is more restrictions on personal liberty, plain and simple.
First question: why do Republicans want to force young persons into an unconstitutional, govt. mandated, and failing school sysytem? Second question: why would they stop, with "undesirable" behavior control, once they have that control? Who would be stripped of their driving privileges, after that, and who gets to decide what is "undesirable" and for whom? Shame on the House, and especially shame on the so-called "conservative" republicans. State nannies are no more welcome than Federal ones.
Why would those pupils, who attend school, but fail, or cannot read and comprehend, be allowed to drive? Will there be more restrictions added to students, if this passes? Also, this is age discrimination (among others). Many adult drivers dropped out of school; are they allowed to keep their driving privileges? I won't get into the issues of illegals who are allowed to drive.
Another point: what about those families who home educate, whose children have never been to "school" to drop out? Those teens and their families should not have to jump through even more intrusive govt. hoops to establish their elegibility to drive.
I could go on and on... The whole plan is ridiculous, and flat out unconstitutional. NOTE TO LEGISLATORS - JUST SAY NO
                           YOU ARE BEING WATCHED

During a period of ttime when jobs are so desperately needed, WHY would this 'honorable' legislative group of SC Leadera vote NAY, as opposed to YEA???? Where is this honorable 'new set of eyes' governor when the vote is taken??? It is time for 'leadership' to raise it's head, and, "BLESS" this STATE OF SC with the opportunity for JOBS IN SC.
A YEA Vote, RATHER than a NAY vote, would present a PLEASANT TONE.

THE EYES OF SC ARE FULLY UPON YOUR VOTES!

Coming from a two union member household, I can assure you that unions serve a very useful purpose in protecting the employment rights of their members. Growing up in the South, you become indoctrinated to the anti-union, right to work vitriol from an early age. From your very first job you learn that you can be fired without cause and you have no recourse, so you spend your life sucking up to whatever boss you have at the time hoping that the axe doesn’t fall. Right to Work really means Right to Wrong. Why are South Carolina families so far beneath the median income in the United States? (Right to Work) Why are our teachers and other government employees severely underpaid and treated like dirt by their administrators? (Right to Work) How many of you lost your job in the Great Recession while the company retained junior employees who make less money? (Right to Work) I could go on and on, but the fact remains that Union employees have it much better than their Right to Work counterparts. If you want to secure a better future for your family, get a union job (there are some right here in SC if you know where to look) or talk to one of the labor unions and get the process started where you are. Don’t believe all of the doom and gloom that you hear, I am very satisfied with the standard of living provided by our union jobs, can you say the same?

I wish these businesses would put a bit more money and time into screening these items before they put them out on the market. This is especially eye opening when it involves the health of babies.

My father served on the USS Cowpens in WW11. He was part of the catapault crew. His name is Paul Love and he and my mother live in Indianapolis. My 3 older sisters and I remember many trips to Navy Ports as a stop during our family vacations.. My dad wanted us to experience what it was like on the Navy Ships. We were sad that we never got to see the actual USS Cowpens. Maybe one day soon we'll bring Dad to your Father's Day recognition Ceremony!
