Police are on the lookout for a man believed to be wanted in three states for multiple bank robberies after a Summerville bank was robbed.
The Regions Bank in Summerville was robbed Monday afternoon around noon, and the suspect could be the man who robbed this same bank in 2007. According to Captain Jon Rogers of the Summerville Police Department, the white male suspect entered the bank with a black handgun and demanded cash. He’s described as about 6 feet tall, nearly 220 pounds and reddish blonde hair. He’s known to be wearing a regular polo shirt and a red baseball cap. Rogers explains he’s believed to be the same man who is wanted in South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama.
“And we believe he is responsible for robbing over 20 banks in the Southeast. We have a possible vehicle we are looking for, we don’t know if it is connected, it may be, it may not be. After the robbery we had a older model Ford pick-up, teal in color, possibly with Georgia tags, leaving the area at a high rate of speed,” says Rogers.
Rogers says no one was harmed in the robbery and the bank is closed.
