The body of 56-year-old South Carolina author Dale Hudson was found in the Pee Dee River Saturday evening at around 8:30. According to the incident report provided by Marion County Sheriff’s investigators, two fishermen found Hudson’s body in the Pee Dee two miles south of the U.S. Highway 76 bridge. Hudson had been reported missing Friday. Officers from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources assisted Marion County authorities in recovering the body. Marion County coroner Jerry Richardson said foul play has been ruled out in Hudson’s death.
Horry County police authorities says Hudson last spoke to his wife Wednesday morning. She said Hudson was leaving for a business trip, but called her to say he was getting a migraine headache and was going to rest. She didn’t hear from him again. Among Hudson’s books are “Dance of Death” and “Kiss and Kill.”
