A motorcyclists’ rights organization that helps families in need for Christmas was robbed in Myrtle Beach. ABATE, which stands for A Brotherhood Against Totalitarian Enactments, provides toys for various families in need. However, last Sunday some ABATE members opened the group’s motorcycle storage shed in Myrtle Beach, realizing more than $1,000 worth of merchandise was stolen. Items that were stolen included donated toys, bikes and dolls.
WBTW reports ABATE Coordinator Rebecca Rowan says “Hopefully, we’re going to get a lot of donations in, and we’ll still be able to take care of those children, but not as well as we have in the past.” Each year, the group choose elementary schools in Horry County to help. These schools find the families that need assistance.
