Today, the South Carolina State Ports Authority will announce a new public-private program that will help boost business at the Port of Charleston. Ports Authority President and CEO Jim Newsome will announce a new partnership between the State Ports Authority and the Charleston region’s privately owned, rail-served warehouses. This partnership is expected to target export accounts through the port.
This new business development program also has a goal to build new businesses through the port and 14 rail-served warehouses. Today, Newsome will make the announcement at a World Trade Luncheon at the annual South Carolina International Trade Conference.
Representatives from privately owned warehouses in the Lowcountry will also be on hand for the luncheon.
