Three people on board a private plane perished Wednesday night when the aircraft crashed into a mobile home in North Myrtle Beach. The victims of the cash have been identified as Danny Carroll, his wife Rachel, and their granddaughter. No one was inside the home at the time of the accident that occurred at 8:45 pm.
Carroll is listed as co-owner of Lady’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis, North Carolina. A licensed pilot, he owned his own plane, but may have been flying a rented plane. The family had been at the beach and were headed home. The Associated Press is reporting that the Piper PA-28 was registered to Robert O’Neale III of Concord, NC.
Three others, two men and one woman , were transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center as a precaution. One of the men, a police officer, was treated for smoke inhalation. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are expected to investigate the crash.
