The Orangeburg Sheriff’s office is investigating shooting Thursday that then caused a traffic backlog on a busy highway. Officers have begun a preliminary investigation of an early morning shooting in Orangeburg that killed 27-year-old Antonio Jamison. He was shot and killed after an altercation outside a Magnolia Street business in Orangeburg near Highway 601. Traffic was rerouted for several hours in an effort to protect the integrity of the crime scene.
In a statement from Sheriff Larry Williams, the incident took place between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. Thursday morning and they have a person of interest who is being questioned and has been read their rights. There are no charges at the present time.
