Matching reward money will hopefully assist local law enforcement and the ATF in the recovery of stolen firearms. Two separate rewards of up to $5,000 each is being offered for information leading to the recovery of the stolen guns.
On April 30, three persons stole 15 firearms during business hours at the Ace Hardware store in Hartsville. On May 30, one person broke into Big Al’s Gun and Pawn in Hartsville making off with 20 long guns.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSFF) and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have given matching funds of $5,000 each for information that will help speed up the recovery of guns stolen from the two stores in Hartsville. President of NSSF, Steve Sanetti said he is hopeful that the matching reward offers will assist local law enforcement in solving these crimes before the firearms get into the illegal underground black market.
Anyone with information is urged to contact ATF or the Hartsville police department. Callers may remain anonymous and information will be treated confidentially.
