Boeing’s new interior parts plant will be in Ladson. Boeing has picked Ladson for its new plant where future workers will build parts like stow bins, closets, partitions, class dividers and overhead flight crew rests. The 250,000 square foot facility will be built at the Palmetto Commerce Park in Ladson, just a few miles away from the 787 plant in North Charleston near the airport.
Officials are saying the combination of both plants will improve the overall efficiency in the delivery and assembly process. The Ladson facility is set to open in 2012, but hiring will begin next year.
