The deadline has past and the field is now set for the special election to fill the State House District 21 seat which was held by State Representative Bill Wiley who recently passed away.
The lone Democrat in the race is Susan Scarborough Smith. Meanwhile, five Republicans will take part in a primary election on October 12.
Conway Belangia,the director of elections for Greenville County says the Republicans are Samuel Harms, Phyllis Henderson, Keith Smith, John Symons and Stephen Dowd.
The runoff election, if needed, would be October 26 with the midterm election for the seat on December 14. If a runoff is not needed, the General Election would be November 2.
