Political blogger Will Folks and his allegations of an affair with Nikki Haley are back in the news. Folks signed an sworn statement in Richland County that outlines a timeline of “inappropriate sexual contact” with the gubernatorial candidate when she was in the legislature in 2007.
Haley’s campaign denies all of the claims of Folks and a subsequent claim by another operative Larry Marchant, who worked for one of Haley’s Republican opponents. The last flurry of claims resulted in a signicant gain in the polls for Haley as high-profile Republicans came to her defense.
This newest round is spurred by another Republican group, calling themselves “Conservatives for Truth in Politics” led by Cyndi Mosteller, a former vice chair of the state GOP.
They asked that Folks submit an affidavit, which he said in his blog was a “reasonable” request.
Folks also names public servants who he says knew the type of relationship he had with Haley. He also calls on Haley to allow a forensic examination of her state computer to confirm his allegations.
