An announcement Tuesday by the South Carolina Department of Commerce, York County and the City of Rock Hill means more jobs are heading to the Rock Hill area.
Winbro Group Technologies, Inc. will establish its new operating facility in York County. The $10 million investment is expected to generate 25 new jobs.
Winbro Group Technologies is based in Coalville, Leicestershire, England, and is a manufacturer of advanced machining technologies, producing cooling holes and forms in and on components that are used within aero engines and industrial gas turbines. They expect to have the facility operational by January 2011. Gov. Mark Sanford said the announcement shows the extraordinary success over the last year South Carolina has had in attracting aerospace industries.
York County Council Chairman Buddy Motz says companies like Winbro and the jobs and investment they bring “hold the key to a resurgent and more stable economy for our area and the nation.”
