SLED continues its investigation on South Carolina State University’s finances at a transportation center–for the fourth time. Thirty million dollars showed up unaccounted for in SC State’s budget for the Clyburn Transportation Center. For the fourth time, SLED is looking into the center’s accounts to see if any crimes were committed by the school.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports the Legislative Audit Council already is auditing the center’s finances to get deeper on the issue. Besides this, SLED is also continuing investigations on the 2008 Lowcountry Classic scholarship fundraising event, as well as SC State’s finance office.
School officials say they will cooperate with all investigations.
