Lee County Correctional Institution remains on lockdown Tuesday following an altercation that sent three officers and four inmates to the hospital Monday morning. The fight occurred around 9 a.m.
Corrections Department spokesman Josh Gelinas says the officers suffered cuts and stab wounds.
All three officers were treated for their injuries and released yesterday. And the four inmates who were injured also have been returned to the institution.
Gelinas said the prison remains on lockdown, and they are investigating to find out what the cause of the fight was and who was involved.
The corrections officers were injured while attempting to break up the fight.
