Second District Congressman Joe Wilson is enjoying his role as senior Republican in the U.S. House from South Carolina. That means a bigger office in the Rayburn building and a group of freshmen that he will introduce to the Hill. The congressman says the new class from South Carolina bring an energy already that is contagious.
Wilson held press conferences throughout his district Monday – to announce his agenda for the year (listed below).He spoke with SCRN’s Ashley Byrd.
Congressman Wilson says he commends Governor-elect Nikki Haley for already working with the state’s congressional delegation. She will meet with them quarterly. Wilson’s support is being courted financially by potential presidential candidates in his party, as South Carolina’s GOP primary is one of the earliest and the first in the South.
Wilson is not willing to name his favorite yet.
