Republicans take the front seat in the House today and they plan to get right down to business.
House members of the 112th Congress get sworn starting at 2:30 this afternoon, but they officially become Representatives in the noon hour to elect the 61st House Speaker, John Boehner of Ohio. Then he can take part in swearing in a Republican-dominated House.
Boehner has also sworn to do other things as House Speaker, including: publishing legislation online and breaking down complex spending bills like the Omnibus spending measure.
Thursday, House Republicans will stage a full reading of the Constitution in the House. Then they plan to repeal the health care law – to send it to the Senate- where it will be in the hands of the Democratic majority that passed it in the first place.
