One of the world’s most prestigious performing arts festivals, in Charleston, has released its program, and it’s packed with a variety of new cultural performances. Spoleto Festival USA draws locals and tourists together every year to the heart of culture in South Carolina. Charleston will host the arts festival from May 27 to June 12.
The agenda includes more than 150 performances by 48 artistic ensembles. Some of the highlights on the program, released last week include: Festival founder Gian Carlo Menotti’s opera, “The Medium;” the American premiere of “Emilie;” “The Red Shoes;” 13 of Andy Warhol’s screen tests with Indie-pop musicians, jazz and dance performances; and of course, the Spoleto Festival USA Orchestra.
