Officials have closed the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport due to the winter weather. The Upstate has seen about six to seven inches so far today, with expectations of more snow to fall tonight.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol has reported more than 100 accidents on the state’s roads, and urges motorists to stay off the roads, as conditions are very hazardous. The winter storm warning for South Carolina is in effect until Tuesday afternoon. The Lowcountry is experiencing freezing rain and ice.
The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport is the only airport closing as of now.
