Today, at Governor Nikki Haley’s inauguration, before the swearing in, a Bureau of Protective Services officer was taken off on a stretcher after collapsing on the State House steps. House and Senate members stood up in a single-file line to make way for the paramedics to get by to carry the officer off. No word on what caused the officer to fall, but the doctor says he will be fine. After about a 15-minute delay, Haley’s inauguration ceremony resumed.
