Another low-cost airline will soon be serving South Carolina.
Vision Airlines, based in Georgia, will begin flying three days a week– from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport and Columbia Metropolitan Airport to Destin, Florida. An announcement is scheduled for Tuesday.
The flights will start on March 25th from Greenville-Spartanburg and April 1 from Columbia.
Clay Meek is the Director of Marketing and Business Development for Vision. He explains why the routes were chosen.
The reason we chose Greenville-to-Destin is because of the number of people that drive that long drive on vacation. We see an opportunity where the people there would visit more often. Actually, they’re adding an extra two days to their vacation because that drive-down time can now be done in less than three hours.
Flights will be on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Tickets bought between now and Sunday will be only $49 one way.
Vision says it plans to expand to more than 20 cities across the Southeast this year.
