She’s been in office less than a month and the governor is facing a lawsuit based on comments she made at a press conference. The International Association of Machinists filed a suit in U.S. District Court in Charleston because of what she said in nominating Catherine Templeton to run the SC Labor, Licensing and Regulation Department.
Haley was referring to Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner North Charleston plant. The union’s spokesman told the AP he has never seen such overt remarks.

The lawsuit wants to stop Haley from blocking employee access to union representation.
