U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham returned to Washington Wednesday morning after spending nine days in Afghanistan serving in his role as Colonel Lindsey Graham, U.S. Air Force reservist. Only three hours after arriving back in the U.S., Graham participated in a “State of the Union Congressional Debrief” podcast hosted by “The Atlantic” and “National Journal.”
Graham says he agrees with President Obama that it’s time for members of Congress on both sides of the aisle to work together to find common ground on issues. Graham says the President did not go far enough in his State of the Union address efforts to keep entitlement program solvent Including Social Security. Graham says one move that should be on the table is adjusting the retirement age.
On the subject of civility in government, Graham says his congressional colleagues should all take a trip overseas and observe our dedicated men and women in uniform.
