Freshman Fifth District Congressman Mick Mulvaney says, after his first month in Washington, he’s still learning the lay of the land and trying to meet more and more of his House colleagues. Mulvaney says he is also keeping a watchful eye on the volatile situation that has developed in Egypt. He says while members of Congress should concentrate on domestic issues for now, the situation in Egypt can’t be simply dismissed.
Mulvaney says he is excited that he and his fellow Republican freshman congressmen from South Carolina– Trey Gowdy, Tim Scott, and Jeff Duncan– are already developing a strong working relationship.
Mulvaney says he is buoyed by the team approach he and his fellow freshmen are developing to get things done for their respective districts and for South Carolina as a whole.
