A suspect and a Greenville County deputy were taken to the hospital this afternoon after a Greenville Wal-Mart was the scene of a possible rampage. The incident began when the suspect entered the Woodruff Road store swinging two butcher knives. After deputies arrived, the suspect moved into the parking lot where he threw a knife striking one of the deputies in the leg. Another deputy fired at the suspect, shooting him three times.
She says when the deputies took over, the man cried out, “Shoot me, shoot me, I want to die.”
The name of the suspect and the deputy have not been released. The State Law Enforcement Division was called in to investigate.
