The sixth-annual Charleston Food and Wine Festival opens Thursday and lasts through the weekend.
It’s been dubbed one of the top five food and wine festivals in the country by Forbes Traveler magazine. The festival brings in thousands of people to try some of the city’s best restaurants, while pairing the food with wine. Attendees can visit up to 90 different culinary vendors from across the Lowcountry, while meeting chefs and trying samples of food and wine.
To kick off its sixth year, the city’s top chefs will compete in a “Quickfire Challenge.” The challenge gives the chefs 15 minutes to create a dish with six Lowcountry ingredients. With signature charities represented at the festival, the Charleston Food and Wine Festival has a mission to introduce the world to the culture and culinary advancements in Charleston.
The festival ends Sunday.
