Canada’s ambassador to the United States visited Clemson University on Tuesday to help launch the new Canada Center.
South Carolina and Canada have always had a friendly relationship. Myrtle Beach’s Canada-America week has been an international business success. Former Speaker of the South Carolina House David Wilkins recently served as U.S. Ambassador to Canada and now a new Canada Center is at Clemson.
The center will assist Clemson in its collaborations with Canadian institutions to support a framework for future dealings between the country and South Carolina.
Canadian Ambassador Gary Doer said the new center will play an important role in further advancing what he feels is already a strong partnership.
The center will operate out of Clemson’s Office of International Affairs and will require no additional staff or facilities to begin its operations.
