Guardian Industries says they will expand operations, adding 50 jobs in Chester County. The glass products company today announced a $45 million investment for the rural area.
The plant will be installing an advanced technology coating machine in its Richburg plant to produce energy-efficient glass for residential and commercial buildings.
“Demand for our company’s products is on the rise and our Chester County plant plays an important role in our overall operations,” says Tom Wunderlich, plant manager for the company headquarted in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt in a press release said, “Manufacturing companies continue to have a large role in our state’s economy, and so it is always gratifying to see one expand its presence in South Carolina.”
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, in that same release added, “It’s also the type of investment that helps make the U.S. less dependent on foreign energy sources, while saving consumers money on their energy bills, and promoting a cleaner environment.”
