The Spartanburg Public Safety Department continues its investigation into the deadly crash Saturday of the amusement train at Cleveland Park. According to an incident report released to the media, the conductor of the train, Mathew Conrad, told officers that he was traveling too fast and knew better. The crash killed six-year-old Benji Easler and injured dozens more adults and children. Yesterday, state officials announced inspector Donnie Carrigan who approved the ride for operation was let go after admitting he falsified his report.
