Today the General Assembly will honor 15 South Carolinians who died in military service in 2010. Senator Jake Knotts hosts this annual luncheon for the families, who are then honored on the Senate floor at the start of the day’s legislative proceedings.

The families’ luncheon is held at noon at the Summit Club in downtown Columbia. Senator Knotts said at last year’s luncheon that he hopes that soon there will not be a reason to hold the event.
