A man accused last Wednesday of shooting his son and the child’s great-grandmother has been formally charged in the case.
Justin Jermaine Johnson, age 21, of Summerton was charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, kidnapping, first-degree burglary and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
According to police Johnson confessed to killing his son, 9-month-old Jayden Caraway, and 59-year-old Maxine Briggs Caraway the child’s great grand-mother, and then shooting his girlfriend, Kaisha Caraway with a shotgun at the victims’ home in Manning.
A hearing was held Friday morning as Clarendon County Detention Center. Johnson will have to wait for a 3rd Circuit Court judge to set bond.
