Congressman Jeff Duncan this morning on Capitol Hill called the death of Osama bin Laden “symbolic” :
Al-Qaida is still a presence, we still have to realize we still have a war on terror. It helps us today in thinking about this to reflect on 9-11, what happened, the tragedy and the families that are still suffering from the loss of life and what our military’s been doing since 2001 when we went to war against al-Qaida and into Afghanistan to take out that stronghold, still fighting the Taliban today.
The 3rd District congressman says it is a great day for America:
It shows our resolve and our perseverance that it took this long but I was to commend our military and our leaders for focusing on this and working diligently and persevering to basically take out the number one threat to America.
Duncan spoke to affiliate WLMA’s Anne Eller, who is reporting from Capitol Hill today.
