1st Congressional District Congressman Tim Scott says the NLRB complaint on Boeing building in North Charleston to unfairly avoid unions is an attack on states’ rights. Congressman Scott says the complaint vowing that Boeing violated federal law when it built its 787 jetliner final assembly facility in South Carolina is an attack on the free enterprise system.
Last month, when the NLRB first filed the complaint, Scott said it was time to stand up to what the country’s forefathers put in writing–
Could you imagine looking at our Constitution, the 9th and 10th amendments, that allows our states to dictate and decide their own destiny? The right to work is embedded in the DNA of South Carolina and we are using federal dollars, your tax dollars, to attack companies like Boeing over issues of workers.
This week, Scott said he believes the decision by the NLRB is a retaliation effort against South Carolina workers for voting to disband their union. The congressman says the NLRB action is clearly an abuse of federal executive power and he will do everything in his power to protect states’ rights.
